Would you like to use your talents to give back to the community and have fun at the same time? Mini-Musicals on the Move® is looking to fill two positions: a pianist to accompany our talented performers and a sound technician to manage our audio set-ups.
Pianist: We perform abbreviated musicals (complete with costumes, props, and some dancing) for senior living facilities in the Washington, DC metro area. Each show requires one rehearsal before the performance plus the performance, for a total of about three hours (not including driving time). You will rehearse and perform once or twice a month based on your availability. A stipend is available for performances.
Sound Technician: We use headset microphones and speakers, which need to be set up and monitored for each performance. The sound technician loads and unloads the equipment (speakers, mixer, and mics), sets it up, conducts mic checks before the show, and monitors sound levels during performances. Each show lasts one hour, and the sound technician arrives an hour prior to showtime to set up. The technician also breaks down the equipment after the show, so the total time for each show is about 3 hours (plus driving time). We would like you to be available twice a month if possible, and we will train you if you are unfamiliar with sound equipment. We provide a stipend for each show.
